Troop 396 Can't be Beat!
Troop 396 is the oldest and most established troop in the Annapolis region, having been in existence since 1943. Throughout these many years, Troop 396 has helped many boys transform into young men who are experienced in leadership, public service, and citizenry, and who have mastered the skills of scouting, self-organization,and self-confidence.
Troop 396 is and has been continually chartered by Trinity United Methodist Church in Annapolis, MD.
Troop 396 has been privileged to help many young men earn the rank of Eagle Scout at a rate that is consistently many times above the national average amongst other Boy Scout Troops. We are proud of the fact that many of our young men who earn the rank of Eagle Scout remain active within our troop until their college studies sufficiently distract them from participation. And we are honored that many of our Eagle Scouts have returned to volunteer as adult leaders after completing their studies.
One of the distinguishing features of Troop 396 is the fact that we are truly a Boy-Led Troop in its strictest definition. Our Scouts are empowered to create the Troop calendar and to select troop programs. Scouts will plan for the logistics and will define the menu when we camp. Scouts will also define the agenda at every meeting, campout, and Court of Honor. A Scout is even responsible for calling the meeting to order and dismissal when the meeting is over.
Our annual calendar is jam-packed with a variety of Scouting activities so that there is something for everyone. We ask our members to regularly participate in meetings, outings and events and most importantly to have fun!
